Cast Alloy

René N5

René N5 incorporates rhenium for solid-solution gamma matrix strengthening, delivering significantly improved creep rupture capability at temperatures above 1000°C compared to first-generation single crystal alloys. Developed by GE, it is used for high-pressure turbine blades and first-stage nozzle guide vanes in GE's H-class and FB-class industrial gas turbines, as well as in advanced military and commercial aero-engines. Qualified under C50TF87, René N5 is one of the most widely deployed second-generation single crystal alloys.
