René N500 is a single crystal nickel-base superalloy formulated without rhenium, relying on high aluminum and tantalum content for gamma prime strengthening and oxidation resistance in place of the rhenium additions used in second-generation alloys. Its grain-boundary-free single crystal structure supports strong creep and thermal fatigue performance in hot-section service, while the rhenium-free chemistry reduces exposure to a constrained and costly raw material. Part of GE's René single crystal series, it is suited to high-pressure turbine blades and first-stage nozzle guide vanes in aerospace and industrial gas turbine applications.
282 is a gamma prime strengthened nickel-base superalloy powder with high creep strength and strong fabricability for additive manufacturing.
