It is primarily used for first-stage nozzle guide vanes in industrial and aero-derivative gas turbines, where hot corrosion resistance at moderate-to-high temperatures is a primary design requirement. The alloy supports repair and rejuvenation heat treatment to restore service-degraded microstructure.
