Where Manufacturing Meets Material Verification

Advanced manufacturing and in-house laboratory expertise working together to support material qualification, process control, and customer confidence.
Where Manufacturing Meets Material Verification

In superalloy manufacturing, producing the material is only part of the process.

Chemistry must be verified. Processes must be validated. Testing must be accurate and repeatable. For customers operating in highly demanding industries, confidence in the material depends on the manufacturing processes, systems, data, and people behind it.

At SeAH Superalloy Technologies, those elements come together at our Temple, Texas facility, where advanced manufacturing and an in-house laboratory were designed to operate side by side.

Today, that integrated approach is moving into practice. Our vacuum induction melting (VIM) equipment is running, our teams are completing first heats for ingot production, and qualification activities are progressing across the facility.

Take a closer look at the people, equipment, and testing processes that connect our manufacturing floor to our laboratory.

From the Manufacturing Floor to the Lab

Our Temple facility was designed to shorten the distance between producing material and understanding it.

A plant-wide pneumatic tube system allows samples to move directly from the manufacturing floor to our laboratory. The closed transfer reduces unnecessary handling and significantly shortens the time between sampling and analysis.

Within minutes, a sample taken during manufacturing can be in the lab for chemistry analysis. Results can then provide our manufacturing teams with information about the material while the process is still underway, supporting timely decisions and elemental adjustments when needed.

Produce. Sample. Analyze. Respond.

It is a direct feedback loop, all under one roof.

“Our job is to give the manufacturing team confidence in what they’re producing and our customers confidence in what they’re receiving. Having those capabilities in-house allows us to do both.” - Justin Terhorst, Lab Supervisor

First Heats, Real Data

Across our Temple facility, years of planning, engineering, installation, and preparation are now being put into practice.

Our VIM equipment is running, and our teams are completing first heats for ingot production. These initial heats move us from preparing and commissioning equipment to operating under real manufacturing conditions.

Each one adds to our operating experience and helps establish the process parameters and consistency needed for repeatable production.

It is an important transition for our Temple operation. The systems we have spent years building are now producing the real-world results that will support the next stages of our ramp-up.

Accreditation and Qualification in Progress.

As manufacturing progresses, another important body of work is advancing alongside it: accreditation and qualification.

Our laboratory has achieved ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, demonstrating the technical competence and traceability of our testing activities. Our teams are also pursuing additional industry accreditations and customer qualifications required for the applications and markets we plan to serve.

This work puts our systems to the test. Procedures must be controlled. Measurements must be traceable. Results must be consistent. Records must demonstrate that requirements are being met.

Our in-house capabilities, including chemistry analysis, metallurgical evaluation, material characterization, and specialized testing, allow our teams to generate and evaluate much of that technical evidence within the Temple facility.

Together, these activities help establish the documented performance customers require before material enters critical applications.

Building Confidence, One Heat at a Time

The work underway in Temple represents a shift from building the facility to proving what it can do.

First heats are turning years of engineering into operating experience. Our laboratory is putting its capabilities to work alongside manufacturing. Accreditation and qualification activities are establishing the technical foundation required for the markets we plan to serve.

There is still work ahead, but this is how a new superalloy manufacturing operation comes to life: one heat, one result, and one demonstrated process at a time.

Because in high-performance materials, making it is only the beginning.
